Contextual Review

In November I officially joined the fashion communication pathway and started my part 2 study, in these four short months I have gained the most valuable experience since I came into contact with art. On the whole, I am used to developing each step as much as possible, so that I can spread my ideas better, but the disadvantage of this is that it is difficult to organise my logical thinking, and sometimes there will be inspirations without evidence, which is always a challenge for me. The solution to this problem is to properly sift through my ideas, treat the mood board and mind map separately, and then organise them in my sketchbook. I have a particular way of splitting up my projects and it has been very effective in helping me to sort out all the logical issues in my projects, which I have named "what it is", "what it's made of", "what I'm going to do", "what I'm going to do", "what I'm going to do", "what I'm going to do", "what I'm going to do" and "what I'm going to do". What is it", "What is it made of", "What am I going to do", "Does it look good".

When I identify the theme, my mind first creates images that I try to capture. For example, the second project, on set, was initially unsuitable for me, but I ended up being inspired by "images of my childhood" that flashed into my mind, which had a big impact on the way I work. This project has had a big impact on the way I create, before I would develop my ideas in a very formal way, mostly through thinking and researching, now I think it's just a product of a lot of information stacked up, like this project my inspiration was a fragment of a memory that I had forgotten, but through this project it has been given a meaning, I don't want my work to be just an empty form, I want it to touch my heart. I no longer want my work to be an empty form, I want it to be something that touches the heart. I received feedback on this project through a critique at the end of the project, and the idea that "I should continue to do better" was reinforced when someone was able to appreciate my work and think it was special enough.

The formation of my style is most indispensable to a director and artist, my muse ULDUS BAKHTIOZINA. Two years ago I saw the work "Дочь рыбака" (The Fisherman's Daughter), in which she used a lot of grotesque elements, as well as traditional customs and culture, and I was impressed by her strong visual language in the overall process of watching the film. I was infected by her strong visual language, the Russian grotesque aesthetics is what I recognised in this work, as well as those traditional Russian costumes, followed by a lot of grotesque make-up, and then a lot of bizarre objects and images in the film, all of which greatly changed my visual perception, and made me deeply obsessed with this grotesque aesthetics and made my style of work start to become grotesque as well. The style of my work began to become grotesque as well. Bhaktizna used to look at the world from a unique Pre-Raphaelite perspective, and many of her works express the idea of women being buried. I was more or less influenced by her work and my desire to work with female subjects, which is related to being a woman.

In the third part of the course, I would like to improve the quality of my work, for example, by increasing my knowledge of professional photography and imitating some of the successful examples of my work. In terms of time management, I believe that a good piece of work cannot be achieved without a long period of polishing, so I hope I can spend more energy on optimising my work. In fact, at this stage, my pursuit of art as a student is neither complicated nor noble, I don't expect my works to be influential, nor do I expect my works to be expensive, my requirements for my own creation are firstly, "what I like" and secondly, "what I can do". "I don't mean only doing what I know, but what my current ability can support me to achieve, which can be done after learning. For example, I've always enjoyed trying to incorporate different art forms, and after that I may want to learn more about different areas of art to help enrich my work, such as crafts or special effects make-up, etc. Thirdly, "what I want to express", although it is not a mature idea or something that is very wild, I just hope that my works will continue to bloom as my life does.
